Barisal Division of Bangladesh | Districts of Barisal Division | Rivers of Barisal Division

Bangladesh has seven administrative districts where Barisal is one of them. Barisal has an area of 13,644.85 sq km. It comprises with six districts including Barisal district. It is located in the central south part of Bangladesh. It is bounded by three others division Dhaka, Chittagong and Khulna and by Bay of Bengal at one side. Barisal is so-called as water bank of Bangladesh. Barisal is criss-crossed by many rivers. Barisal is also called granary of the country that is why the nick name of this division is "dhan-nodi-khal....ai-tine barisal" Rice is the main crop of this division where vegetables, wheat, jute and sugar can grow well.

Barisal has many canals where crops get an advantage to grow. A vast amount of agricultural products are grown in this division which contributes much for the total demand of BD. In Barisal division 8,147,000 people's are lived in. Since this division is composed of many small to large rivers so fishes are available here. The national fish of Bangladesh Hilisha is grown well in this area as well other fishes. Communication system of Barisal is good and amusing.

Travel to Barisal brings so much pleasant to the visitors. Barisal division has some tourism places, kuakata is one of them. The sea beach of Kuakata attracts all visitors like as so good. Barisal has some renown academic institutions, colleges and universities. Barisal is well known for cyclone and sidr affected area. In the year 2006 a serious hurricane named as sidr flowed his outrage over Barisal as well other divisions of Bangladesh. Extra precaution can reduce the destruction to this affected areas in the future.

Divisions of Bangladesh with comrpising districts and population statistics

Bangladesh is a country of South Asia with 147570 sq km areas. It's one side is surrounded by Bay of Bengal. With the new division Rangpur Bangladesh is divided into seven divisions (Bibhag). Each division contains individual numeric code, letter code and ISO sequence code. The divisions are following...








The above statistics are accordingly Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics(BBS) Report 2011 and statoids.com. Bangladesh is also proposed of three more divisions and these are Chittagong Hill Tracks division, Comilla Division and Mymensing Division. Bangladesh is divided into 7 divisions which are sub-divided into 21 regions, then into 64 districts(Zilla), further 493 thana or upazillas and finally into unions and villages.

Bangladesh has a glorious history of Independence. In 1971, she gained independence from Pakistan. After liberation Bangladesh was divided into four divisions Chittagong, Dacca(now dhaka), Khulna and Rajshahi. The last recognized division is Rangpur and it has the biggest city corporation area among others. In Early January, 2010 Rangpur was divided from Rajshahi division with eight nearest districts including Rangpur. Wikipedia has helped us to get more information.

Give warm cloth to Rangpur Division

Rangpur division is situated at north portion of Bangladesh. For river side and Himalayas this division fall under heavy cold in the winter season. They suffer most at December and January months in a year. The people of rural zone can not buy warm cloth requires for the temperarature containing these districts. So they suffer a lot, people of over 60 years and the infants or babies are affected by it very much.

It becomes too much critical to live the days when the average temperature is 13°C or bellow it. A heavy warm cloths are needed to get protection in this time, but the people of local area in this cities are unable to buy a blanket or sweater or jacket. They often use torn or dresses under using to protect themselves from this cold weather. Many kind people, organization's, companies, voluntary leagues and association's assist these poor people by giving warm cloths every year. As a human being everyone should come forward to help these people. If you have ability to give some warm cloths please go there and stand to these people as soon as possible. We all appeal to the eligible people to give some blanket, sweater or other warm cloths among them. They are awaiting for ours kind co-operation.

Rangpur Division and The Including Districts

Rangpur is one of the major city of Bangladesh. Recently it has been declare as Rangpur Division and City corporation. Now Rangpur is the biggest City Corporation of Bangladesh. Rangpur division comprises with seven nearest districts surrounding the city. These are Gaibandha, Kurigram, Lalmonirhat, Nilfamari, Dinajpur, Thakurgaon and Panchagar. Rangpur division is situated at norther portion of Bangladesh.

People of Rangpur division become happy to have it. People of Rangpur division was under Rajshahi division and they now feel proud to get this division at nearest zone. As the most largest city corporation Rangpur have 2534365 peoples where about 50% of their are male and rest are female. About 90% people of Rangpur are Muslim, 8% Hindus and rests are Christan and others. Rangpur division is an agriculture based area where most of the peoples earn their living from land and lives in rural area.

 In some rural areas of Rangpur division do not see the modern civilization yet. Most of people of Rangpur division lives under poverty. They can not come out from the curse of poverty yet. Flood is a common factor in most of the districts of Rangpur Division. Every year thousands people are losing their residence to river's ground. People of this division suffers a lot in winter season also. Average temperature of winter season in this divisional districts are bellow than 18°C. Temperature contain in January is near to 13°C or bellow. In Rangpur division once grown jute mostly but it has reduced to the present day. Now paddy, potato, tobacco, sugarcane and wheat are prime crops of Rangpur divisional districts.
